PostHeaderIcon 10 Year Anniversary

I hope everyone is well. Today is our 10th Anniversary (Joel & I). I thought I had some wedding pics with me to post, but appareantly I have not moved them over to my new drive. I do however had a pitcutre that is almost 11 years old. This is a picture of Joel & me at our first Dance when we were in college. I am 18 years old in the picture below (October 1996)

To Celebrate this landmark event Joel & I took a trip to Brazil last Feb. We were there for two weeks & went with 4 of our friends. We had a wonderful time & it was technically the first time I had left the country (I had to catch a plane in Canada once, but it really did not count since we were on our way back from Alaska).

This is our apartment in Florianopolis (we were there for 9 days)This one of the entire gang at a Street Bar

These are pictures of the two of us at different beaches we visited while we were on the island. This is a pic of Joel & I on the Beach at Cococabana in Rio. We stayed at a very nice hotel there for the last 4 days of our trip. We loved it & Talk about going back all the time. This is a pciture of Joel & I from one of the views from the Corcovado statue in Rio & another of us leaving the Corcovado statue. We took the stairs up to the statue, but only because we did not discover the escalators until we were leaving. :)

PostHeaderIcon Jason Morley Visits the Big D

Hey - Well my brother was in town last weekend & it was so nice to have him!!!

We picked him up at the airport with excitement which was instantly killed since it took 45 minutes for his bag to get off the plane. We have no idea why they were so slow, but... We then took him to our favorite Thai restaurant Sweet Basil. We went to the Lewisville location where Sabrina & Mike were holding a table for us & excited to meet Jason - only fair since I know almost all of there family (still waiting to meet Sabrina's sister). We then went home & crashed at the house & got caught up.

Sat. we went shopping. Jason has some luck & the G By Guess store, Joel & I each found something at Steve & Barry's. BTW - G by guess was having a free pair of panties promo with purchase & much to my brothers horror I told to make sure & get a pair for me - I was very entertained. :) hehehehe. Then we were off to South Lake where Joel & Jason helped me score free cloths at Delia's - I think he was pretty impressed with my local DFW coupon deal!

Off to the big D where we stopped at Fuel City for the best tacos in TX (Nationally Polled) which we ate at Joel's new office & then walked the streets of Deep Elm & stopped at a couple really cool vintage stores where I found some very exciting buys - black racer back with camo heart on the front & a Seat belt purse - been wanting one for over a year now. Here is a picture of Jason at one of the shops.

We then took him to Twisted Root for the best burgers in TX (only the best for my brother) BTW - I had the black bean veggie burger with Goat Cheese & it was fabulous. Below if a pic of J & I at Twisted Root.

We then headed home for some R&R & then went on to Andy's in Denton to catch what I thought was a Fabulous little rock band called Forever Falls (check them out at http://www.foreverfalls.com/ ). Unfortunately this was not quite Jason's seen & he really wanted a more "Texas" experience so we headed over to the Silverleaf & caught the Jon Pat Hennen band which was pretty good & I would go hang again if they were playing. Below is a lovely picture taken at about 1 AM in the morning of J & I at the Silverleaf.

Sunday we got up & played some Frisbee golf with Jesse & Melissa - (Pic. Below) & Jason go to really experience the TX heat & humidity. Okay - not really since it was not over 100 degrees, but it was pretty bad. Aside from the heat we all had a great time & no one was attached by the Poison Ivy

After Frisbee golf we took Jason to Braums for some local ice cream & then Jason & I went & saw Ocean's Thirteen, which was pretty good, while Joel got some work done. After that we went to Matt & Kim's who kindly let us take over there TV so Jason could catch the series ending of Sapranos (big let down) & them back to the house for some R&R. Craig stopped by to say howdy & meet Jason - which was very thoughtful of him.
Monday I got Jason to the airport safe & sound & begged out the rest of the day. Thanks for coming J - had a great time & miss you already.

Love, Kyr

PostHeaderIcon Wildflower Fest

Okay - I have been meaning to get these pictures up for a while now. Below are pictures from the Wildflower Fest we went to on Joel's Birthday Weekend (so may 21st ish) We saw several bands play - the Romantics, Soul Asylum, Better Than Ezra (puts on a great show), & Eddie Money (puts on a great show). Below are pics of the girls, The girls gang up on Steve, The couples & last but not least one of the happy couple (that's Joel & me). The other couple (who are happy also) is Steve & Whitney - they brought there friend with them & she was fabulous to hang with, but I can not remember her name right now - Whitney will have to help me out with that.... :)
The shirt I am wearing I got in Brazil. It has a really cool design on the back - best pic of that is pic two where we are all attacking Steve. Also if any of you are wondering what the infamous hat from Jazzfest looks like...It's the one I am wearing in all the pics. :) :) (that's right - double smile)

Love you all!!!

Hey everyone - It's Joel's Birthday!!! He is 32 today. everyone send him some love. if you don't have his email you can leave a comment at the bottom of this post & I will make sure he sees it. We had tons of fun this weekend. We went to a concert with friends Friday night & then Sat. did a little birthday shopping. On Sunday he went & hit a bucket of balls with Craig & Mike & then Joel & I went & saw Shrek the third. Tonight we are going out to dinner & then we will probably go see Fracture.

In other news - I got the cutest announcement from my cousin Katie in the mail last week stating that my new Nephew had arrived safe 7 sound. Of course I already new this, but was just as excited to see it for myself. sometimes it is hard living so far away. Anyway, her three darling children are pictured below.

Tomorrow I will upload pictured from this weekend & tell more of our adventures.

love you all,

PostHeaderIcon Mini

Well - As many of you know, I have been waiting for some huge expense to hit & take my bathroom money away, well it happened today. The mini got a flat & that tire had been patched once before & I was going to need to get new tires before September anyway soo....bye bye money. The bathroom will have to be put off for a couple months which makes me sad, but it could have been worse.

I think we have definetly decided to sell the house. It will be a while before it goes on the market since we will be replacing some of the carpet & need to get the bathroom textured, we should also give the outside a fresh coat of paint & maybe even the inside. This will mean Joel & I putting off the fun on the weekends & getting down to business. I think we will do it all ourselves - except for the bathroom which I am definetly going to hire out.

Hope all is well with everyone.

PostHeaderIcon Weekend Catch Up

Hope everyone is well!! Joel & I had a big Saturday this weekend. First we ran a bunch of errands & Joel pick out some cloths he wanted for his birthday. Them we met up with Courtney & Madie & went to the taste of Addison. Joel & I tried every fish taco available & I had some awesome Ceviche from Sambuca (twice). The food was so good & the music played. We also went to a beer & wine tasting while we were there.
Madie had a big day herself - dogs to per, great horn owls to meet & last, but not least...petting her first snake. Of course we were all so excited that we got pictures of none of that. :) here are a couple cute pics we did manage to capture.

Cutest Kid ever!!

Speaking of cute kids - here is mine. Joel had the honor of helping Madie carry around her backpack. What a gentleman!!After that we met up with Sabrina & Mike & went to see Bowling For Soup (A favorite band for Sabrina & I & the boys seem to like them too) Below are some pics of us & a few shots we took of the band on stage.Mike & Sabrina getting there groove thing on.

Joel & I goofing around as usual.

PostHeaderIcon Mother's Day

Hey - I thought I would post some Pics of Joel & me with our moms. I have recently discovered digital scrapbooking. I used some quick pages I found on the net. Sorry I do not have the credits of the designers to share.

This picture was taken last September. PS - I am not a blonde anymore - back to the natural roots for Kyrsten. You'll see when I finally get to post some Brazil Pics.

This picture was taken about 3 years ago, but I had to post it since Joel & his mom are happiest in Southern UT.

Love to the moms,

Kyrsten

PostHeaderIcon Dinner Party

This weekend Joel & I had over the crew that went to Brazil for dinner. We all got together & talked about our trip & with us being the only ones present we didn't have to bore our friends with ANOTHER Brazil story. It was a good time. I did some cooking from Bobby Flay & everything was great except for the habanero salad dressing that was toooooo hot for everyone, but Joel, who loved it. The chicken salad & steaks were wonderful, so overall I was pleased. We drank some alcohol I had brought back from Brazil & then we played some WII & guitar hero - our new party pass time. Blake lives in our neighborhood & he stopped by around 10Pm. That boy is a guitar natural - he was beating me at my own game. We did notice that you could not here the second guitar as well when you were playing with both guitars so we need to look at our system & see what is set up wrong.

Joel & I went & saw Spidie 3 on Sunday for a matinee. It was fine & worth seeing if you love the series, but there were definitely places where I thought the writing was lacking. I think I was just expecting a lot more that I got out of it. The first one still remains my favorite.

Love you all!!

PostHeaderIcon Jazzfest

Okay this weekend was Jazzfest. The first picture is of me trying to catch money at the Verizon booth to win a prise. It was harder than it looked & all I won was a cuzzee.

The next picture is kind of dark, but it is of Joel & Steve (Sabrina's Dad) trying to hook up a light. An Engineer & a planner & all they come up with it to throw it over a tree branch which broke the bulb...if at first you don't succeed someone will bring you a new bulb.

Next is Sabrina, Danelle & I with the Gecko from Gieko - I never miss a photo op. :). After that Gigi (Danelle's dog) attached a corn cob & since she is only 4.5 lbs. it was won of the funniest things I have ever seen.

Here are some pictures of Joel & the boys. First picture is of Joel & Matt, the 2nd picture is of Joel & James (James owns the smoker we use & the last one is Joel's action shot. :)

I love working Jazzfest - Joel & I get to spend a bunch of time together & with our friends as they drop by, listen to good music & eat fabulous food. As you can see this last shot is of Joel & I.

If anyone wants copie sof the pictures just email me.

Kyrsten
PS - No one showed up for the brat eating contest & I was forced to go it alone - Poor me (they were SOOOOOOO good!)

PostHeaderIcon The beginning

Hey I just ordered the cutest shoes - have been looking everywhere for them & I just found them at Amazon - Had a Gift Certificate that I won, so they ended up being cheaper that at Victoria's Secret wehre I first found them, but no in my size In 5 to 7 days my feet will look soooooo cute. :

Update - Just wanted to let you know that I havea new love - I have always loved pRopel Lemon Flavor fitness water, well now it comes in a pwder form that you can dump right into your bottled water. For 2.39 or less you get 10 packs - where 10 bottlew would cost you 10.00. I tired it today & it totally tastes the same!!

Okay - I thought I would start a blog. A place to post my pics & keep my peeps updated on what
I am upto. I am so bad about sending emails out or calling. Joel & I have Jazzfest all weekend. We love working it & have done so almost every year we have lived hear. The city puts on a 3 days concert of local & national band & also has a ton of local art booth set up. My Christmas shopping for the year actaully kicks off with this event, however I try not to start shopping for the stockings until June. :) I also live for the food at Jazzfest. There is this booth called Fried What.com (they also have a website where you can buy there batter) that I live for. One of the best things about TX is that they fry everything. This weekend I will be having fried green tomatoes, fried mushrooms, & for desert fried snickers. I will also head over to the postatoe booth for the best fried potatoes covered with cheese EVER. I will be eating tons of fajitas, & brats all weekend & Sunday a few of the guys & I will be having a brat athon where we all eat a LOADED brat every hour until you can no longer go on. Last year Craig & I quit at the same time - 5 brats - next week I will be working like crazy to loose the weight. hehehehe
